About SusMaX
SusMaX has developed a patented thermochemical process to recycle off-spec coal ash (fly ash, bottom ash, etc) that cannot be directly recycled into in-spec pozzolanic materials into construction lightweight aggregate. We’re on a mission to not only help minimize the potential environmental impact of coal ash landfills but also disrupt the lightweight aggregate market by alleviating the supply chain constraints through local production of this product.
Position Overview
In this position, you will work with SusMaX technical team to perform a comprehensive life cycle analysis on SusMaX’s product. Your effort will help SusMaX to quantify its environmental impact and identify the opportunities to reduce that impact. This will include supporting all aspects that impact the LCA from product carbon footprint to upstream/downstream impact. In this position, in collaboration with the team (1) you will build Life Cycle Inventories for materials of interest leveraging knowledge of chemical processes, mass, and energy balances, (2) Develop Cradle to Gate and Cradle to Grave models, and (3) will be responsible for analysis, visualization, and report of LCA results.
Qualifications
Must have experience:
o Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
o Completed or to be enrolled at least in a course on Environmental Life Cycle Assessment
o Experience of working with LCA software such as OpenLCA, SimaPro, and Gabi
o Knowledge of Life Cycle Inventory Databases
