About SusMaX
SusMaX has developed a patented thermochemical process to recycle off-spec coal ash (fly ash, bottom ash, etc) that cannot be directly recycled into in-spec pozzolanic materials into construction lightweight aggregate. We’re on a mission to not only help minimize the potential environmental impact of coal ash landfills but also disrupt the lightweight aggregate market by alleviating the supply chain constraints through local production of this product.
Position Overview
SusMaX is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Product Development to join our team and lead our technical efforts toward product design, testing, and deployment. As the head of product development, you will develop necessary product testing strategies and plans to meet/exceed SusMaX’s technical objectives. These plans will be communicated with the team and our partners for successful execution. Based on technical feedback from customers you will refine SusMaX’s product roadmap to address customer demands and seamless integration and use of our product. This position is on-site with the opportunity to be 20-40% remote.
Key Responsibilities
o Develop product testing plans for short and long term technical performance measurements
o Deep technical analysis and data synthesis to support product refinement through actionable items, pilot demonstrations, patent development, customer engagement, and reports
o Engage with third parties for the product certification process
o Lead our technical engagement with customers for product testing and feedback
o Manage external partners and internal product development team
Qualifications
Must have:
o Bachelor, master, or PhD in Civil Engineering or related fields of engineering
o +5 years of technical research/engineering experience
o Deep understanding of concrete behavior fundamentals such as cement hydration, concrete microstructure, concrete mechanical properties development, concrete dimensional stability, concrete durability, concrete plastic behavior, and concrete mix design
o Necessary skills to analyze and synthesize test results into actionable items for product refinement and deployment
o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice to have:
o Experience with mentoring and managing and keeping teams on track
o Experience of working with lightweight concrete
o Experience with leaching assessment of coal ash or ceramic materials
o Experience of working with early-stage startup
o Deep sense of curiosity
o Passion for learning new skills
Salary and Benefits
Annual Salary Range: $90,000 -$105,000
